HD Status — Privacy Policy
HD Status sends your photos and videos to your own WhatsApp at full quality. This policy describes exactly what that involves, in the order it happens.
The short version
We hold one phone number per install — yours — so we know where to send your media. Your photos and videos pass through our server and are deleted the moment they have been delivered. We never store them, never look at them, and cannot send them to anyone but you.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Your WhatsApp phone number | It is the only address we can deliver to. We learn it when you message our number to activate — we never ask you to type it. | Until you disconnect |
| An install identifier | Links your device to your number and to your daily allowance. Randomly generated by us; it is not your device ID or your advertising ID. | Until you disconnect. It outlives a disconnect only while a subscription is still running, so a paid plan survives a reinstall — it is no longer attached to your number at that point |
| Photos and videos you send | Uploaded so we can pass them to WhatsApp. | Deleted immediately after delivery, whether it succeeded or failed |
| A record that a send happened — type, size, time | Enforces the daily limit and lets us investigate a failed delivery. It does not include the media or its contents. | 30 days |
| Rewarded-ad confirmations from Google | Credits a send after you watch an ad. | 7 days |
| Subscription status | Confirms Premium. We receive only a purchase token and an expiry date from Google Play or the App Store — never your card or billing details. | Until it expires |
What we never collect
- Your contacts, your messages, or anyone else's phone number.
- Your location. We never ask for it and the app has no location permission. Advertising partners can infer an approximate area from your IP address, in the way any website can; Premium removes the ads entirely.
- The contents of your photos and videos. They are relayed, not read.
- Statuses you save from the app stay on your phone and are never uploaded.
Who else is involved
- WhatsApp — your media is delivered through it, and their privacy policy applies once it arrives. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta.
- Google AdMob — sells the ad space and uses your device's advertising identifier. How Google uses data. You can reset or delete that identifier in your device settings, or remove ads entirely with Premium.
- Advertising partners bidding through AdMob — AppLovin, Unity Ads, Liftoff Monetize, Mintegral, Pangle and Meta Audience Network. When one of them wins the auction it receives your advertising identifier and coarse device information in order to serve and measure that ad. Each publishes its own privacy policy. They never receive your phone number, your media, or anything you send.
- Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymous usage events such as "a send succeeded". No media and no phone numbers are included.
- Google Play Billing — handles all payment. We never see your payment details.
Your choices about ads
In the EU and UK the app asks for your consent before any advertising partner is allowed to use your data, and you can change that answer at any time from the privacy options in the app. On iOS, Apple additionally asks whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites; declining leaves the ads in place but makes them non-personalised, and nothing else in the app changes.
Premium removes advertising altogether, and with it every partner above.
Deleting your data
Open the app and disconnect your number. Your number is erased from our server immediately and permanently, and every session token issued for it stops working. You can also email us and we will do it for you within 30 days. There is no account to close — the app has never had one. Full steps are on the Delete your data page.
Media is not part of this, because there is none to delete — it is removed as soon as it is delivered.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS. Your session credential is stored in Android's private app storage or the iOS Keychain, and it authorises exactly one action: sending media to your own number. It cannot be used to reach anyone else.
Children
HD Status is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note the change in the app's release notes.
